An important foundational thing about the Church is how we love people. Do we always view people through the prism of Jesus? It is because of Christ's love, that we can love, no matter what. It is not because of our works or actions that God loves us. And our actions don't keep us away from God. Only our belief and faith in accepting the unmerited gift of what God did through Jesus secures our salvation. It is our faith and not our feelings that allow us to always come back to a God who says "I am faithful and just to forgive you" (1John 1:9). Such is the freedom we have to be able to endure, persevere, and constantly go back to God who loves us no matter what we look like or what we have done. (Romans 8:39)
