Pentacost is a special day remembering when the
Lord gave the Law to Moses on Mt Sinai and the Feast of Weeks which acknowledges all things come from God.
100's of years later and by the same sign of loud wind and fire,
God confirmed His promise of sending the Holy Spirit to a frightened group of disciples in a locked room.
In this way He demonstrated His acceptance of all people by erasing lines between class,
country, gender, age or language. John 3:16 clarifys that God is here
for all people. Like Peter who denied Christ and was a betrayer, no one is
without hope. On this special day he preached to 3000 people to tell of the mighty works of God.
Although no one was expecting this to happen the Holy Spirit began that day unifying us to be a people who
look for opportunities to tell of the mighty works of God. What an amazing legacy we have had for 2000 years.
